Almost done

• I have about 2 pages left to finish.
• I still need to figure out Google Street finder so I can finish up my website, but flash was not working. I will need to figure out why it isn't working.
• I also need to go back and figure out which concepts I used in my website.
• It is hard to remember back what I was thinking when I created it.
• I need to come up with a short plan of my presentation.
• I think I had more in mind of how my students could use my website.
• After reading the usability article I am even more confused about how to actually make it more accessible to all types of people.

Webcheck #3

I need to work on meeting all of the requirments for the Website Check #3. I was able to add video to my website.

• I need to add my name and date to my website.
• I need to make the changes from my peer reviews.
• I need to change my fonts a little.
• I need to take off my one Word Page just to fulfill the advanced features.
• I need to read the articles for next week.
• I need to work on the content of my web sites.

Photo Shop

Photo Shop

• I learned a lot about Photo Shop. Some parts were diffucult. It was hard to remember eactly how to do what I wanted to.
• I was not able to pull up the videos at home.
• I want to try and get my computer to get flash. That is my goal for next week. There were other programs that I needed it for also.

Website:

• I need to work on getting more content on my website. I need to fill in more of my pages.

Website Update

Since it was Spring Break I have not worked on my Website very much. I got a lot accomplished last week. This week I want to work on getting more content on my pages.

Website Design

I am reading the websites about designing websites.

• I didn't even think about how I was designing to make sure it was viewable by different browsers.
• I did not even realize that their were special browser that you could use in your car.
• I also thought it was interesting that students will learn better when information is presented in a visual way and an audio explanation. It makes sense, but I didn't spend much time thinking about it. You can process multiple things visually at the same time. So when the pictures are there for you to see and then it is accompanied by an audio explanation we understand better.
• Students learn better if they can have a website be interactive where they can learn at their own pace.
• I also didn't know students would learn better with prequestions.

Videos

It is Sunday Night and I had a not so good week.(Everyone is sick) I am feeling slightly better and really good about my website.

• This week I want to add several more pages than I had last week. I want to get some more content on most of the pages. I hope my content is enough. It is about 1 paragraph on each page. I probably have more than enough pages so hopefully it will work out. I don't want to put to much info on each page. I don't want to overwhelm my audience. (4th -7th Graders)
• My next thing that I want to do is to see if I can insert some video clips onto my website. Since I am using publisher it may be a challenge. I was able to embed video into my Blog extremely easy, so I hope my website goes the same.

Readings Blogs & Wiki's

Blogs

• I read through all of the links.
• One I didn't know what we were suppose to look at.
• I of course understand what the blogs are.
• I really like how easy it is to create one. I can't believe that I could figure out how to even embed something in it.
• I know that schools and websites are using blogs as their websites. I would like to know a little bit more about how to setup or change the layout of the blog.
• I teach computers so everyday my students have an assignment on the computer.
• When I am at school I always have to tell the students about 10 steps to get them to be where I want them to go for the day. It would be so much simpler if I could say go to my website(blog) and click where ever. They are so easy to update. I know I wouldn't have time everyday to update my actual website. I could post assignments everyday.
• I think if set up correctly even my 4th graders could find things easily. It takes me a long time to tell them were to go.
• I really want to try the http://www.classblogmeister.com/ I just haven't had a reason to use it in class. Right now I am creating 5 new projects for 4th quarter and don't know how it would fit in.

Wiki's

• From what I read I would much rather create a blog.
• Wiki's seem like a lot to remember how to format them.
• Then someone could delete or change them.
• That would not be good for my classes. Somehow they already manage to delete other people work without Wiki's.
• I like the concept of students changing and editing each other work.
• I have heard about the advantages and the success stories.
• I would just to worried to try it.

2nd Website

• I have started my second website.
• I have a background and design.
• The pages are setup.
• I need to work on putting in the content.
• I need to work on my quiz in Word.

Test

This is a test to see if I can embed a youtube video and be able to play it at school where youtube is blocked. This video is about the Connected Classroom.

Still confused

• I am still confused as to what the difference in the Web Site Assignment #1 and #2 and Web Site Check #1.
• I don't see a huge difference in the assignments. Unless they are suppose to be for a second website, which they don't say.
• I am not sure when we should start our second website.
• I also don't understand how the two websites will be different.
• Since information is basically teaching something.
• I am going to do something similar to the first website.
• I am still not sure when I need to start it.
• I am very confused when one website is finished and the other one starts. Or if we are working on them both simultaneously. Which is very confusing.
• Especially when I have other projects going on at school that I am creating.
• I guess I will email the professor and ask.

Readings

I like the discussion board better than the chat rooms. I like the fact that a teacher could have several discussions going on at once. I think the discussion boards are a little safer than chat rooms. Since it would only be open to students in the class. I don't think with discussion boards the students would be "out there" as much like they would in chat rooms.

I don't have much experience with chat rooms so I don't know exactly how they work. I like that the discussion board you can see everyone's comments for each topic. I like that their name is attached to their comment so they are accountable for what they say.

I teach 4th - 8th grade Computers. At the beginning of the year I teach a few lessons on Internet Safety. We talk about chat rooms and how they shouldn't be in them unless their parents are watching etc. I think that it would be confusing for me to have them use a chat room for school. I think that would send a message that they are okay and safe. We all know that not all of them are. I think discussion boards would be less confusing for them. They should be able to tell the difference between discussion boards and chat rooms.

Frustrated

I am so frustrated.

• It is Monday night and I should be done.
• I had all day off and I took my baby to the sitter so I could work on the website.
• I got a few more pages added, but I got none of the things on the rubric accomplished.
• I can't add a Target Window or Frame in Publisher.
• I don't even think that I can add a Bookmark in Publisher
• Then I at least tried to FTP what I had accomplished to my website and it won't work. It only has the last time that I did it. I tried it twice and even tried deleting everything once and reloading it. It still isn't working.
• My brother-in-law is going to come over to see if he can help me.
• I want to at least have a link to a Word page that is a website, then maybe I can include some of the features.
• I will still have the problem of it not loading onto my website.

2nd Assignment

• I need to figure out how to set the hyperlink to open in a new window. I have tried several things and they all seem to want me to use html. I have no idea what I am looking at or what it all means.
• I am not sure I will be able to do this.
• I want to check to see if I can just copy and paste the link as a new window from Word, however I want it to link in my own website set up in Publisher and not Word.
• I need to create at least 2 more pages. I would really like to know how many pages our final page will be required to have so I know how much to put on each page.
• I need to add 3 advanced features. So far I think the only thing I can(know how to) add is Bookmarks.
• I need to change my text in my links at the bottom of my navigation bar.

Website

• This week I want to get at least 4 more pages on my teaching website.
• I went to the METC confrence and learned some new things about Google Earth. So I want to download the new version and play with it.
• Since I am creating my website about Google Earth I am hoping this helps.

Publisher

• I am going to use Publisher to produce my websites.
• I am a little scared because I am not sure who will be able to help me if I get stuck.
• The layout was easy.
• Designing it was easy.
• One problem I am having is to find an easy way to edit the names of the pages at the bottom. They are already links and I can't just click and edit. They were already set up to say things like contact us instead of contact me. I was able change the page names, but not the link names.
• Today I am going to try to put some information on each page.
• I already have them linked to each other.
• I have links to my email and to my blog.
• I want to have an idea for my topic today.

Basic Setup

• Today Tuesday January 29, 208 I want to first decide on what program to use to create my website.
• I want to get the pages started and link them together second.
• I need to decide on a topic I think I will do the instuctional website first.

I can't see the big picture for the final webpage.
I am barly getting how to create the website when I am school and have help. I know I will not get it when I get home.
I need to come up with a topic for my Instrcutional website.
I need to make sure that I am able to make the webpages at home.
I need to make more blogs.
I need to look at the rubrics for the blog and the websites.
